Behind the Scenes of MLS 2026: Charisse's Internship Experience

In this video, Charisse shares her internship journey at Leaderonomics, where she worked across the Curated Experiences and Social Media teams while contributing to the successful delivery of the Malaysia Leadership Summit (MLS) 2026.

Supporting MLS 2026

As part of the Curated Experiences team, Charisse handled a variety of behind-the-scenes responsibilities that helped keep the event running smoothly. Her work included:

Managing participant lists and administrative tasks.

Conducting cold calls and outreach emails.

Creating Instagram Reels and other social media content to promote the summit.

Her role gave her the opportunity to contribute both operationally and creatively throughout the event preparation.

The Reality Behind a Major Event

Preparing for MLS 2026 was fast-paced and demanding. From coordinating countless details before the event to arriving as early as 6:30 a.m. on summit day to assist with setup, Charisse experienced firsthand what it takes to deliver a large-scale leadership event.

Despite the busy schedule, the experience allowed her to meet professionals from various industries, expand her network, and gain valuable exposure to the world of event management.

Lessons Beyond the Internship

One of Charisse's biggest takeaways was learning the importance of creating content with a specific audience in mind. After receiving feedback that some of her initial ideas were not aligned with the MLS audience, she learned how to tailor social media content more strategically to resonate with the right people.

With the support and guidance of her supervisors, she also developed greater patience, confidence, and resilience. Rather than seeing mistakes as setbacks, she learned to treat them as opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.

A Meaningful Learning Experience

Through her internship at Leaderonomics, Charisse gained practical experience in event operations, marketing, and content creation while developing the professional skills needed to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Her journey highlights the value of mentorship, hands-on experience, and embracing new challenges as opportunities for growth.
